Waterproof Art! Suitable For Bathrooms / Kitchens... High-tech art on high-tech materials... Foamex is a lightweight, but very tough and durable board made from PVC... Foamex makes an ideal backing for art and photos because it doesn't warp, is easy to work, and is unaffected by water. The process used to put the images on foamex is as follows: The image is printed onto heavyweight premium photo-quality paper using a 12-ink giclee process. (These are 75+ year, museum-quality inks.) The giclee is allowed to dry for 24hrs. This is then laminated with a satin finish to protect against water. The laminate also provides added protection against UV light - to further prevent fading. The giclee is then hand-wrapped around the foamex board using a waterproof, non-reactive adhesive. Once complete, the artwork can be immersed in water for several hours - without damage. I have tested this by allowing my son to play with one in the bath over the last few weeks - it's still perfect. The artworks can be wiped clean with a soapy cloth. They are incredibly tough, and can even be dropped - usually with little or no damage (although I wouldn't recommend that).
